BELIEVE AND RECEIVE

ficcpastor@yahoo.com

Since the only way we are saved is to believe, then it is reasonable to conclude that the more we believe, the more we will be saved. In other words, the more we believe, the more we will experience, or walk in our salvation. Remembering, of course, that salvation is much more than just going to heaven.

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Rom 10:9-10

You must understand that saved is the Greek word “sozo”. It means more than just going to heaven. It includes deliverance and healing as well.

So then it makes sense that if the only way to gain access to this great salvation, including all the benefits, is for us to believe, since we can’t earn it, then the more we believe, the more we will enjoy it!

Of course it works the opposite way as well. The more we choose NOT to believe the Word of God, then the more we will experience the curse presently on the earth. If we choose to stiff arm God, so to speak, then we will, by default, experience the wrath of God, instead of His blessings!

And he who believes in (has faith in, clings to, relies on) the Son has (now possesses) eternal life. But whoever disobeys (is unbelieving toward, refuses to trust in, disregards, is not subject to) the Son will never see (experience) life, but [instead] the wrath of God abides on him. [God's displeasure remains on him; His indignation hangs over him continually.] John 3.36 AMP

Keep in mind that Jesus and the Word are one and the same. When you choose to believe the Word, you are choosing to believe Him.

You and I make this decision many times each day in our lives. Salvation is not a one time event in which we confess we believe God and then coast on into heaven. No! It is a continual choice to believe the Word of God over the circumstances of life.

In Mark 11:22-24 we are told that we can move mountains if we believe and doubt not. We are further told, in light of this, that when we pray, we are to believe at the time of prayer that we receive what we prayed for and we will have it.

This is a blank check from Father God! The only limitation here is to believe. There is nothing omitted!

The reason most people do not pursue the “how to” of moving the mountains as stated here, including answered prayer, is because they really do not believe this is a possibility for them personally. Something or someone has become more real to them than the promise of God.

It is easy to make excuses but it takes discipline to master the art of really believing God’s Word to the point of manifestation.

If we really did believe it, then we would pursue a proper working of it diligently. The Word as our absolute, our plumb line, the Truth. John 6:29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

We must work to believe. When the body says pain, work to believe, By His stripes we were healed. When the account says lack, work to believe He supplies all my needs according to His riches!

Spend your waking hours dissecting, studying, practicing until skilled, believing the Word instead of various opportunities to doubt. Do this until we are effective in the small things, continuing onto the bigger and then move the mountains, but don’t stop here, do it some more!

You see to believe is to act. What we tend to do is make excuses. Theological explanations of unbelief that sound real spiritual. Let us determine to stay the course. We started this race by believing and we win this race by a continual believing.

Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; John 8:31

The more I believe, the more victory I achieve!

I would like to welcome all the new subscribers to the Pastors Letter! It is my pleasure to serve you. I do love to hear your feedback regarding the subject matter each week.

We are planning our annual outreach to the streets of Ybor City in Tampa Saturday evening the 27th of Oct. If you like to do street ministry, please sign up to join us. We will be at the Guavaween festival which is always full of carnality of every imaginable kind. You and I have a chance to be a light in this perverse darkness, so please either sign up to go with us or to intercede for us. You can find more information on our website.

Hope you are visiting the websites often as we are adding testimonies and audio services regularly and we do not want you to miss out on any! We would also love to have your testimonies to prayerfully publish as the Lord directs. Please email them to us.

I want you to know I love you all and appreciate you and look forward to seeing you this Sunday in church!

Love you

Pastor Chuck
